The project required the renovation and expansion of a small cape style house to accommodate a new program and to take advantage of a hilltop view that was ignored by the conventional existing plan. The interior was renovated, a breakfast addition was rebuilt and an large addition across the rear of the building created a high ceiling living/dining room that opens to a deck and a horizon view. At the basement level the addition provided an office/library opening onto a terrace and the yard beyond. The result was a quiet transformation of a very ordinary cape into a small sophisticated residence accommodating a new program. |
